Introduction
Responsible for effective administration of credit facilities (facilitation of the Bank’s credit policy which includes pre- and aftercare, and documentation, facility letters, loan agreements, loading and review of limits, identification of cross selling opportunities) in compliance with the Bank’s credit policies and procedures and containment of credit risk as per Performance Contract.
Job description

  • Evaluation of credit applications, with reference to risk factors
  • Ensure all applicable documentation for credit applications are received from Sales
  • Responsible for ensuring that all advances contracts / facility letters are complete and legally correct.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any differences between source documents and the system are corrected and that documents are appropriately filed.
  • Responsible to ensure that fees and charges are recovered in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
  • Completion, processing and filing of all applicable documentation for overdraft facilities and loans: existing and new customers as per prescribed guidelines
  •  Keeping up to date with latest amendments to Credit Manual and any related policies and documentation.
  • Adherence to all regulatory requirements prescribed by Bank of Botswana, NBFIRA, FIA Botswana Government and Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Ensure Monthly/quarterly/annual revision of approved facilities.
  • Ensure Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reports (credit related) to be processed according to requirements.
  • Ensure Excess memorandum submitted to centralised Credit Office when applicable.
  • Ensure management and monitoring of collections of arrears/excess accounts.
  • Ensure actioning of daily, weekly, and monthly credit reports for timely submission to centralized credit office which include the following:

                                i.           Daily excess report. NSF

                              ii.           Detailed finance exception report BID 2. Arrears

                             iii.           Detailed cheque exception reports BID 2. Excesses.

  • Ensure reporting of the credit policy breaches to ensure properly authorised at the appropriate approving levels

 

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or any other related field
  • COP Long & Short Term
  • Certificate in Credit/Banking will be added advantage
  • Four (4) years relevant credit experience (preferably in banking)
  • Knowledge of credit products and services
  • Knowledge of business and credit administration procedures
  • Knowledge of bank credit principles and qualifying criteria
