Business Rescue Specialist-(MT1)
Position Summary
Introduction
Responsible for management of the performance of non-performing accounts within the banks local credit policy and regulatory requirements in order to minimise risks and losses to the bank, as well as Credit aftercare which involves constant controls, monitoring and continuous liaison with Branches and Businesses.
Job description
• Ensures that evaluation and assessment of risk associated with each credit applications, products and borrowers before recommending for approval by the Credit Manager or relevant Credit Committees.
• Ensures that applications are compliant with banks local credit policy and regulatory requirements of the advances instructions manual model.
• Ensures that applications are compliant with regulatory requirements
• Supports the sales force by conducting credit review by providing advice on risk evaluation of complex credit to ensure sound lending.
• Manages turnaround time for all credit applications to ensure timely feedback to sales teams.
• Formulate, implemented, and monitored strategies and action plans to minimize risks, maximize recoveries, and restore profits through rehabilitation, restructuring, direct recovery, and/or litigation.
2. Credit Aftercare
• Ensures accurate record keeping of all credit correspondence and documentation
• Monitor stressed accounts exposures, collateral, and general administration to ensure total exposure reduction in line with approved agreements and restructuring were done.
• Monitors adherence to loan terms and conditions, triggers following them up
• Actions credit reports and follows up branches for submission of reports
• Ensures that banks policy breaches are properly authorised at the appropriate approving levels.
• Ensures credit policies are reviewed and updated in line with market trends and demands
• Managing of Issue Closure process and overdue issues
• Early identification and reporting of deteriorating credit facilities
• Monitoring and management of irregular accounts to limit transfers to Non-Performing Loans
• Reviews and monitors conditions and triggers set for facilities granted
• Ensures timely completion and submission of monthly reports which include:
I. Board reports
II. Bank of Botswana single borrowers limit report etc
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related courses?
- Five (5) years experience in credit in a Commercial Banking environment
- Knowledge of Credit principles
- Proficient Knowledge of Banking Credit principles & Administration Procedures
- Thorough knowledge of the Market and Regulatory Requirements pertaining to credit
- Passion for Credit
